Animals Love it When you Meditate!

Posted on Sep 10th, 2008 by JuicyGoosey : Raw Artist JuicyGoosey
Hey Juicy Readers!  So I have a great story for you that I've been meaning to share for a while.

Recently, I have been doing this great new mediation called Blisscipline A.M.  I absolutely love it. But I had been noticing that every time I start the meditation practice, my cats go bizzurk for my attention.  When I brought this up to my Blisscipline leader, she said that animals LOVE this meditation and told me a story about the time her friend was outside in the country practicing when all of a sudden he looked up and saw a deer!

So apparently mediation isn't just good for stress relief and mental health but also animals love it : )

Well, this happened several months ago and I had forgotten all about this conversation.  A few days ago I was visiting my parents in the suburbs and I decided to do the Blisscipline practice outdoors because it was a beautiful evening.  In the middle of the practice I open my eyes and see a HUGE GINORMOUS Possum running towards me with no fear. It was just a few steps from my feet when I saw it, freaked out and screamed.  That poor possum looked like I had snuck up on him and scampered away.  I think in the end the Possum was more scared then me.  Now why couldn't it have been a deer? Why'd it have to be a monster size creepy Possum : /

After that, you think I would have gone indoors and continued in the safety of the house. But no, I stayed outside and this time a much nicer visitor, my parent's cat came on over to me.   Thankfully no more Possums. However, the next day I had six new mosquito bites and so now I'm wondering if the mediation practice attracts the insects as well? Come to think of it, I just remembered how recently I woke up after meditating to find a dozen flies in my apartment and I had no idea how they even got in! I'm feeling like snow white ; )  LOL the funniest response was when my friend called me the meditating Doctor Doolittle ; )

Does anyone else have any amazing mediation stories?  I'd love to hear!!!

This week my birthday is coming up and amazing enough opportunities for a free Hellerwork & Accupuncture session fell into my lap! Happy Birthday to me! YEY!!!

I'm so excited for these new adventures and can't wait to share!!!!

Until soon!

Juicy Inspiration

Posted on Sep 3rd, 2008 by JuicyGoosey : Raw Artist JuicyGoosey

Today My Friends, I thought I would share a little Juicy Inspiration that found me when I most needed it this week.  It definitely helped me stay on track and motivated to take care of myself, mind, body, and spirit.  Enjoy! : )

"Nothing in the world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination are omnipotent. The slogan "press on" has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race." -- Calvin Coolidge

"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.  Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure....

It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us.  We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented and fabulous?  Actually, who are you not to be?...

Your playing small doesn't serve the world.  There's nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you...

And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.  As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others."

--- Nelson Mandela

I just love inspiring quotes!  Please send me some of yours I'd love to hear!!

Signs Signs Everywhere are signs

Posted on Aug 30th, 2008 by JuicyGoosey : Raw Artist JuicyGoosey
The #1 Sign It's Time for a Colonic!

Shit is coming

I had a brand new client coming in to the office. She was nervous and about ready to skip out on me.  But then she saw this sign right outside our office and took it as a sign from above she needed some serious colon cleansing : )  And I must say from the looks of her treatment it was a damn good thing she listened to that sign.  I wouldn't have been surprised if she told me she lost five pounds from that treatment.

Hee hee : ) Don't you just love it when these synchronicities happen! It's the perfect reassurance you are on the right path. And if you are clear on exactly what you want, once you are face to face with these signs you will know exactly what it is you want/should do.  There is no way to ignore them. You won't be able to hesitate moving forward to achieve your goals and meet the destiny you have chosen for yourself.

It's going right to the top of my reading list!  Please tell me someone has read it and has a great quote to share. If not hopefully I will have one soon.

This Goose has flown the coop!

Posted on Aug 16th, 2008 by JuicyGoosey : Raw Artist JuicyGoosey
Sorry for the delay in posting. This Goose needed a bit of a break!!! I needed to go throw myself into the fun of life and so I flew the coop!

Here's a questions, how much do you think about food?

Years ago when I was on the Standard American Diet and determined to loose weight I felt I had to constantly tell myself, "I'm on a diet I can't eat that I can't eat that I can't eat that." But I have to say, that kind of thinking just makes you obsess more and think more about food and triggers the food cravings.

These days I prefer to think about eating as little as possible. There are a ton of foods I love that are incredibly healthy that I can eat. When I'm hungry and it's time to eat, I enjoy them fully. When it's not time to eat or when I'm satiated, I fly the coop, I get away from the TV, get away from the restaurants, get away from advertisements of food that make me crave the food regardless of hunger or not, and I get away from the stashes of food. I let it go, I get out and just enjoy all that life has to offer. Anything and everything as long as it has nothing to do with food. Dancing, Producing, Singing, Karaoke, Reading, Party Planning, Arts and Crafts, Hiking in the woods, Kayaking, Camping, Meditating, Yoga, Traveling, Playing with Friends…. So much to do so little time! We are truly blessed to have so many wonderful fun things to do with ourselves in our life. While food is a big pleasure in life, there's so much more joy to life than food alone. And if I get out and start enjoying my life, chances are I won't even think about food. My body mind and spirit are full. I'm craving less unless I REALLY am hungry. Then I eat, just enough, slowly & fully enjoy, let go of it, move on, rinse and repeat. And it works for me.

I would love to hear what works for you and your findings? But since this post is actually about doing something that has nothing to do with food, lets forget all about it and instead feel free to share an interesting or hilarious story this week about anything at all as long as it has absolutely nothing to do with food.

I have a ton of interesting stories I'm dying to share but I think this post is already too long.  You all must be blogged out at this point! : ) So I will post later this week. Until soon my juicy goosey readers!

HONK HONK!

Love,
The Goose

All You need is One happy Thought and up you go!!!

Posted on Jul 23rd, 2008 by JuicyGoosey : Raw Artist JuicyGoosey
The biggest lessons of life were already told to us in our favorite Fairy Tales.

FUN RANDOM QUIZ TIME!!!

Which childhood story are these from?

"All you need is one happy thought and up you go!!"
"In every job that must be done there is an element of fun. You find the fun and snap the jobs a game!"
"just a spoon full of sugar helps the medicine go down"
"It makes no difference who you are. When you wish upon a star, your dreams come true"
OK I had more and forgot. oops. Anyway to the point...

You know what helped me with my first 30 day juice feast, helps me to want to stay Raw, helps me to always rid myself of food obsessions? Simply one amazing delicious exceptionally happy thought!! In Harry Potter, what is the one thing he needs to defeat the Death Eaters. A happy thought!! With any goal whatever it is only the happiest of thoughts can give you that energy and excitement to propel you forward with joy and enthusiasm! I highly recommend you don't wake up and don't leave the house without this happy thought. Just one amazing happy thought and up you go!! Healthier choices will be easier! Solutions to your obstacles will come to you easily and clearly. But before you start with any goal I truly believe the most important ingredient to success is that delicious happy thought to make the journey fun and easy. So much fun the job becomes a game!

WHAT ARE YOUR HAPPY THOUGHTS?

I picture all my friends and I laughing hysterically. Laughing so much we can't stand up.

I picture my self with so much boundless energy I'm skipping, running, dancing, and it's fun!

I picture myself with the self-confidence to wear that fun hot outfit I've been dreaming of and go out dancing and shaking it on the dance floor with all my friends. I see myself and my friends dancing on the bar, singing Karaoke, and rocking the house!

I see myself enjoying my body, it's boundless energy, and it's amazing strength!! I see my body craving and loving to get out and move!!

I see myself in a great fun silly mood and with the self confidence to flirt with the next cute funny guy who crosses my path!!

I see an easy solution for any obstacle! I see myself instantly melt all worry, all stress, all anger and transform it to light, joy, and love!!

Now wait a second... What do I do if I loose my happy thought?

I pull out my "In Case of Emergency Card" which tells me to:
  • take a nap
  • call a positive happy friend
  • meditate
  • breathe
  • go for a walk
  • do something silly
  • laugh
  • read a good book
  • exercise
  • stretch
  • watch the comedian videos on myspace
  • Watch Funny Videos on You Tube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qtWcb0bcA-A

The "In Case of Emergency" card is a great tool I learned compliments of THE FENG SHUI GUY www.thefengshuiguy.com

If you were to make a card for yourself, what would you put on it?

I'm looking forward to hearing your happy inspired thoughts and emergency suggestions! Thanks for stopping by!

I leave you with this silliness : ) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vu3gDfHirbw

Oh my gosh Water!! That's my favorite!!! How did you know?!!

Posted on Jul 12th, 2008 by JuicyGoosey : Raw Artist JuicyGoosey
I have a very silly friend.  Every time a waitress brings him a glass of water, he  shouts out over enthusiastically "Oh my Gosh Water! That's my favorite! How did you know?!" The idea of getting excited over something as common as water makes us all laugh.

We all know we are mostly water, So wouldn't it make sense that a majority of what goes in our mouth should be water? We've all been told dehydration causes hunger, fatigue, crankiness, confusion and depression among many other things. We have all heard from our doctor when we are sick to drink twice as much water so our body can flush out what it needs to. (More info on the importance of water here.

So why are we still not drinking enough water? I know for me, if I don't have my bottle of water sitting with me , I'll get so wrapped up in what I'm doing the next thing I know the day has flown by and I'm dizzy from not getting enough H20. I'm sure I'm not the only one with the problem, I've spent days with friends and family, realizing no one's drinking any water.

THIS WEEKS EXPERIMENT:
To drink water. Take your weight divide it in half and aim to drink that many ounces of water a day. Now when I say water, I don't mean juice, soda, coffee or alcohol. I mean good old-fashioned H20.  Try carrying a water bottle everywhere you go and put reminders in your calendar if it helps.  Also, it's probably best to drink it earlier in the day so you don't wet the bet at night  : )

To keep it interesting below are some water ideas to experiment with:

Lemon Drop – or simply Lemon water : ) – A classic oldie but goody. Just squeeze some lemon in the water to charge it and give it a little flavor

Mint Julep - rip up some fresh mint and put it in your water, let is sit for a day to soak in the mint. Mint is known to be a coolant so what a perfect addition to your water in the summertime

Lemon Mint Julep - a combination of the above.

Orange Drop– Squeeze a tiny bit of orange in the water

Lemon spice ( or Orange spice)– touch of cayenne and lemon (or Orange). Okay this one I've never tried just thought it up now and thought it would be neat to try. Let me know if it works
; )

Sangria -cut up a small bit of peaches, nectarines, and cherries. (not too much still needs to be mostly water) and let it soak in the water to give it some subtle sweetness.

Instant Fun, Instant Smarts, or Instant Love!!!-
There is a book called "The Hidden Messages in Water" in which the author scientifically shows how positive and negative emotions effect the chemistry of the water. He shows how positive words and thoughts causes the water crystallizes into beautiful shapes and when negative hurtful words cause the water to crystallize into ugly gross shapes.

Even if you don't believe this then just get in touch with your inner child that still believes whatever it wants to be true, because this really is just fun play, making it fun to drink water, right? So write fun positive words all over your water bottle. Love, peace, joy, happiness, health, energy, or whatever it is lacking in your life that you want. And drink it in, drink in as much of it as you can hold fill yourself up on this first before you turn to the food and lets see what happens.

And last but certainly not least

Water - just water, which really is just the best, for those of you who really love your water just as it is, you need no reminder or fancy tricks, and quite frankly think I'm making this more complicated than it needs to be.

Go Rock it out everyone! And don't forget to share! Please post your observations and/or your own real life funny stories regarding water. I'd love to hear how the experiment works for you, how it makes you feel, if it is inspiring you to keep drinking your water, if you have any obstacles you need help with preventing you from drinking water, or if you come up with any other fun ideas or inspirations. By posting, you're not only helping yourself but also other readers. I can't wait till the day I'm in a restaurant and I hear a bunch of people shout, "Oh my Gosh Water!! That's my Favorite! How did you know?"

I'll go first.
This morning I woke up and drank 3 quarts of plain water. Yep that's right. In honor of this post I drank lots of water.

I wasn't 100% awake and a little hungry. I could still function but I wasn't feeling absolute peek. Then I drank 3 quarts of water. I was awake, full, and clear and felt much sharper. Already I felt the effects. Water's my Favorite ! ; )

About the Silly Goose Behind it all

Posted on Jul 12th, 2008 by JuicyGoosey : Raw Artist JuicyGoosey
That would be Me!! I'm an actress, writer, producer, Certified Gravity Colon Hydrotherpist, Raw Food/Detox Consultant, and of course a Health Enthusiast!  I've always been on a search to feel healthier and happier. I've hit my road bumps, fallen off the wagon, and hit the pavement pretty hard many times in my life.

One particular time, once upon a time, a year ago before I even knew what Raw food and juice were, I was at a point where I had given up on health and just accepted my depression, cysts, skin infections, allergies, clogged head, puffy small eyes, and plump frame as normal and the way it was going to be. I found myself at Prana Brooklyn at a Juice Fasting Talk. It was all so crazy and I wondered what these crazy people where doing to themselves. Juice Feasting, no meat and getting regular Colonics. What the heck is a colonic? Oh my God you have to let someone stick something in your butt! Exit only please! I thought to myself maybe I'm going to pass on the Colonics and just TRY to juice for 1 day. Just 1 day. Nothing but juice. Yeah right after one day I'm going to be ravenous, I remember how rough Yom Kippur and Passover has been for me every year. There is no way I'll be able to do this.

But I tried it. And the absolute euphoric buzz the juice provided was something more amazing than anything! Not only the physical joy but also it awakened a spiritual connection that was stronger than I ever realized I was capable of. My clarity and energy was through the roof and every time I got hungry I recharged my battery with another juice and needed nothing more. I was sold. 12 days later I was off the fast but wanted to maintain the benefits and the re-discovered joy of health and so I was now doing the Raw Food thing as best I knew how with the help of my new Prana Brooklyn and Gravity East Village  families.

Then my cyst had returned, and I had a choice, I can get on the stirrups every couple of months so a doctor can cut open the most sensitive part of my body (excruciatingly painful you should know) or let someone insert something in my butt and pump out the toxins. Hmmmm well it was kind of no brainer for me. Luckily I had the best Colonic Hydrotherapist in the WORLD!!! It was completely painless, surprisingly not awkward, actually a lot of fun because he was so funny we just talked and laughed the whole time. You know how wonderful you feel after taking a huge dump, how relieved and lighter, well take that and multiply the feeling by 10 and that is how wonderful I was feeling.

Since then I've done two 30-day juice feasts, 2 liver gallbladder flushes, a bunch of mini cleanses, and became a certified Gravity Colonic hydrotherapist. Not only has my cyst disappeared but so has the scar tissue, which the doctors told me would be permanent. Also, I have healed myself of the skin infections, rid myself of my allergies and clogged head, cut my sick days and depression not just in half but definitely 75-80% less. Just like everyone else, I sometimes have my rough spots, but I know I'm happiest with this path and I'm excited for this blog, because we can keep each other inspired and reminded of how wonderful it is to feel good and healthy!
